Amstrad PPC 512
Very interesting and singular machine for the shape and the technical solutions adopted in the construction. The keyboard is as big as the whole machine,
being a full extended keyboard it is very long, so the machine is narrow and long. The keyboard covers the monitor which you lift and lock by hand. The keyboard is firmly hinged to the body of the machine.
There are numerous rubber feet in different positions to support the PC standing or lying down. It features a dual power supply, external and via stylus batteries in series. The power switch is an alternative to the power supply, (see photo of the commands BATT OFF - EXT ON <|> BATT ON - EXT OFF). Next to it are the internal tweeter volume and contrast wheels, along with some lights that indicate floppy and power supply activity.
The bag is built around the machine and is equipped with numerous pockets for documents and for the bulky and heavy power supply.
The machine has a conspicuous rigid carrying handle, which protrudes under the floppy.
The CC VIDEO IN ports and the two A-B expansions on the back of the machine are curious.
Provision for a second floppy next to the first.
