History:
He was born to a teacher and a librarian. He studied at Lakeside School, where he met Bill Gates, two years younger than him. In 1969, with Gates and other guys, he founded a company with which, for a year, they tested equipment from the Computer Center Corporation company, mainly to gain access to computers, not to earn. While Gates later enrolled at Harvard University, Allen enrolled at the public University of Washington. After abandoning their studies, they both founded MicroSoft#### in 1975, later changed to Microsoft, developing an operating system that ran on Altair 8800 computers.
Allen was the key man in the $50,000 purchase of the DOS#### operating system, which was the future of Microsoft.
Since 1982 Allen, at 29 years old, manifested Hodkin's syndrome, which forced him to distance himself from Microsoft in order to be treated seriously. He took a two-year sabbatical and while he was recovering started his own software company, Asymetrix.
In 1990 he returned to Microsoft, occupying a management position, and in the same year he founded Vulcan Ventures, a venture fund company specializing in broadband cable connectivity services.
In early September 2000, Paul Allen left Microsoft altogether, owning 4% of the shares.
Paul Allen was a partner in about 140 companies, including Priceline, Dreamworks, Go2Net, Oxygen, Metricom.
Sports fan bought NBA Portland Trail Blazers, Seattle SeaHawks and Seattle Sounders FC, spending over $270 million in all, music enthusiast and generous benefactor. Create a charitable foundation and donate several million dollars to a Washington university.
It finances the construction of a spacecraft, the SpaceShipOne, which was in fact the first private spacecraft to travel in orbit around the earth.
He founded a musical group, playing guitar and released an album. He builds the Experience Music Project in Seattle, for the sum of 270 million euros, a gigantic museum dedicated entirely to his idol: Jimi Hendrix.
Funded the SETI project for the search for intelligent life in space.
From the scientific projects he financed and from his aerospace industry STRATOLAUNCH was then born the largest transport aircraft of the same name ever.
